Hartselle Recreation
Fun and Fellowship Together
The Depot Days Festival celebrates the towns railroad heritage. There's a 5K and Fun Run, Arts and Crafts Show, Car Show,
Tractor Show, Children's Games/Rides, Storytelling, Musical Entertainment, Food and plenty of family fun.
Holidays in Hartselle are special, too. October brings the Crestline Carnival; and in November, open houses hosted by
the Chamber of Commerce and merchants begin the "Hartselle for the Holidays" activities, plus the community wide Thanksgiving Service. In December,
Santa makes his official appearance during the
Christmas Parade and residents graciously open their doors for the Beautification Association "Tour of Homes."
Throughout the year, there are banquets, neighborhood block parties, school festivals, school choral and band concerts, as well as lots of regularly scheduled activities at the Civic Center.
Sparkman Park,
located behind the Sparkman Civic Center on Nanceford Road, is an
80-acre recreation oasis in the midst of the city. The Civic Center
and Park feature full-size basketball courts, racquetball court, two
lighted tennis courts, lighted baseball fields, concession stands,
two lighted soccer fields, twenty acres of wooded area with picnic
pavilions, lighted walking trails, tables and playground areas. The
park is also home to the areas first disc golf course.
The city is in the
process of replacing the Olympic size pool and concession stand with
a new updated facility -

Four covered pavilions are available in the Park to rent. Pavilion

The
area directly behind the Civic Center is home to the John Mark
Stallings Special Needs Accessible Playground of Morgan County,
commonly referred to as S.N.A.P. The playground is a 3 phase
community project, lead by local civic organizations and funded by
donations, in kind services and grants. The purpose – to have a
playground where ALL children can play. The Swing set, Splash Pad
and Pavilion have been completed with much success. The Entrance and
raised play area are next. For pictures and more information on
S.N.A.P. go to the following website -

Hartselle is home
to many organized community sports - youth baseball, softball,
football, basketball and soccer leagues, as well as adult softball
leagues. Whether you are participating or just enjoy watching –
there is something for everyone.
Our immediate area also holds a national forest, a national wildlife
refuge, fishing challenges of all sorts and boating and water
recreation activities of any description.
