One of the best parts about getting ready for the new school year is picking out new school supplies, but some local families can't afford these necessary materials. A backpack filled with pencils, notebooks, and erasers are just ordinary school supplies to most kids, but to a child in need those few items can be treasured, helping to bridge the gap between fitting in and feeling different. The HACC will have buses parked in prominent community locations for 1 week prior to the beginning of school to collect school supplies any other items that would be of benefit to HCS students prior to the school year.
